Siddhidatri | Navratri Day 9
The final form of Durga is Siddhidatri and the celebration on the last day is also called Navami in Navratri when individuals go to Siddhidaatri (Ardanareeswara). ‘Siddhi’ means supernatural power or meditative ability, and ‘Dhatri’ means the one who blesses or gives that power, hence her name means “giver of supernatural power.”
The goddess is figured as seated on a huge, fully-bloomed lotus, riding a lion. The four-armed goddess is shown holding a Gada (mace) and Sudarshana chakra in her right hands while a lotus and shank in her left hands. Maa Siddhidatri is shown surrounded by Siddhas, Gandharvas, yakshas, asura (demons), and devata (gods) who are worshipping her. Many also worship her as a form of goddess Saraswati, who imparts knowledge and intelligence and removes the ignorance of her devotees. The Siddhi that she provides is the realization that only she exists. She is the mistress of all achievements and perfections.
The story of Maa Siddhidatri in English
The mother Siddhidatri is competent enough to give all Siddhis to the strivers and her devotees. According to Devi Purana, Lord Siva acquired these powers only by the grace of this goddess alone. With her gratitude, the half body of Shiva became that of the Goddess Shakti and therefore he also came to be called ‘Ardhanarishvar’. Siddhidatri is depicted with four arms. Her vehicle is a lion. She is seated on a lotus flower. She holds a Chakra in her right lower hand and a mace in the upper. In the left lower hand there is a conch and in her upper left hand a lotus flower. On the ninth day of Navaratra Puja, she is worshipped. This day in a prescribed manner and with his full faith the Sadhaka acquires all Siddhis. There remains nothing unattainable in the universe. He develops competency to conquer the whole universe.

Maa Siddhidatri Ki Katha
नवरात्रि के अंतिम दिन मां सिद्धिदात्री की पूजा की जाती है। मां कि पूजा करने से से मनुष्य को कर्मों से लडऩे की शक्ति प्राप्त होती है। देवी सिद्धिदात्री की पूजा करने से मनुष्य के जीवन की सभी इच्छाएं पूर्ण होती है। मां कमल के आसन पर विराजमान है उनके पास हाथों में कमल, शंख गदा, सुदर्शन चक्र है जो जीवन में सही मार्ग की और अग्रसर करते हैं। नवमी के दिन मां की आराधना से यश, बल व धन की प्राप्ति होती है। इस दिन पूजा करने से अंतरात्मा को दिव्य पवित्रता प्राप्त होती है और जीवन में अच्छे कर्म करने की प्रेरणा मिलती है। भगवान शिव ने भी मां सिद्धिदात्री की ही उपासना की थी। जिसके बाद उनका आधा शरीर देवी का हो गया था। आधा शरीर नर और आधा शरीर नारी का होने के कारण ही इन्हें अर्धनारीश्वर भी कहा गया। मां सिद्धिदात्री को सिंह पर सवारी करने वाली, चतुर्भुज तथा सर्वदा प्रसन्न रहने वाली है। मां की उपासना करने से भक्तों को धर्म, अर्थ, काम व मोक्ष मिलता है। देवी ने सफेद रंग के वस्त्र धारण कर रखे हैं और वह अपने भक्तों को ज्ञान देती हैं। मां की हमेशा उपासना करने से अमृत पद की प्राप्ति होती है।
