Riti Riwaz means Customs they are such traditions or rites that have gone on from generation to generation. They are related to daily activities or major events in life. Sometimes they are also part of religion and festivals.

Riti is an indigenous / Sanskrit-derived word and Rivaaj comes from the Persian Rivaaz.

Tulasidas’ Doha reads thus:
