Ayurveda Tips To Follow For A Healthy Life

Ayurveda Tips To Follow For A Healthy Life

Ayurveda has many ancient principles followed for health and fitness. But today’s busy life has given Ayurveda a backseat and because of living in material comforts, we are prone to addiction and diseases. If you want to be healthy and fit then follow certain basic rules in your daily life.

What is Ayurveda

1. Follow deep breathing techniques

Slow and deep breathing techniques will give more oxygen to your lungs. The air we breathe gives us energy which is reduced by short breaths, so breath full and deep.

2. Sleep for 7 to 8 hours each night

Sleep is one of the pillars for maintaining health and balance in the body. Sleep is the time when the body is able to repair and heal itself, so take care that you get a good night’s sleep daily.

3. Exercise Daily

Regular exercise, especially yoga, improves circulation, strength, and endurance. It helps one relax and have sound sleep and improves digestion and elimination so exercise daily.

What is Yoga

4. Drink one or two glasses of lukewarm water daily

Lukewarm water is beneficial for the body as it accelerates metabolism and also helps in moving food faster in the digestive tract. Start your morning with a glass of lukewarm water that can heal our bodies, providing digestive power and reducing metabolic waste that could have built up in our immune system.

5. Eat your Breakfast 2 hours after waking up

Breakfast is the first meal of the day and should be consumed 2 hours after waking up somewhere between 5 am to 10 am. A balanced breakfast will make your brain active and maintain your energy level.

6. Eat regular meals, at the right times of day

Make a routine for eating food at the right time as an erratic eating schedule could be totally messing with your health. Irregular meals can lead to obesity, high blood pressure, and type 2 diabetes.

Eat a nourishing breakfast in the morning, lunch in the high noon, and a lighter dinner before sunset. Chewing properly also encourages you to eat more slowly and mindfully.

7. Do not drink water for about 40 minutes after eating food.

It takes roughly 2 hours to digest what you eat so don’t disturb the digestion. Drinking water just after the meal will tamper with the natural time it takes for food to digest.

8. Don’t do heavy work after eating food

After eating a meal you can walk for at least 15 to 20 minutes but don’t do hard work or take bath after eating a meal.

9. Spend 30 minutes daily in Sun

Our best source of vitamin D is sun exposure. Vitamin D, an essential nutrient that researchers now link to the prevention of an ever-increasing array of diseases, from colds and flu to multiple types of cancer.

10. Keep an erect body posture

Our daily lifestyle involving hours of sitting puts excessive stress on our spine and back muscles. Keep your body moving to increase blood flow and lubrication to avoid muscle and back stress.
