Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara
As the name goes Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara remains true to its narrative, subtle and lighthearted throughout. Its story is a perfect salute to the friendship of the three boys having fun in an adventurous sports trip facing high and lows of life together. The main message the movie gives is to seize every moment of life and live it to the fullest. Learn to forgive others especially ones you love and never live life in regrets push yourself for what you want. Life is not only to chase dreams and work, just take a break from your busy schedule and spend quality time with your friends and family.
The movie Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara saw Hrithik Roshan (a successful investment banker), Abhay Deol (a wealthy businessman) and Farhan Akhtar (a writer from a modest background) as friends who are not bothered about each other’s family backgrounds. Kabir (Abhay Deol) is engaged to Natasha (Kalki Koechlin) and wants to go on a bachelor trip with his two childhood friends before getting married. Farhan Akhtar flirted with someone from another country with another language but if you love somebody purely than don’t hold back just give it a try.
Dil Dhadhakne Do
Dil Dhadhakne Do is about live and let live. The movie is about a dysfunctional Punjabi family traveling on a cruise ship through Europe. Dil Dhadhakne Do (DDD) is a must-watch for everybody regardless of what social status or financial category a person belongs to. Agreed, the drama takes place in a ‘rich’ people setting. But the family problems depicted in the movie are common across all classes in the country. So although it feels like they are rich people’s problems, they are actually not.
This is not a lighthearted movie, though it does contain some humor and romance. It is, instead, a serious drama about family dynamics, expectations, and acceptance. The plot is rich and well-written. The music and choreography are average. Kapoor gives a stellar performance as the tightly-strung, controlling father this movie is a perfect treat for the family. Ranveer Singh is always known for his flirt game and all the movies like ‘Ladies vs Ricky Behl’ where he plays a charming flirt to woo the ladies and con them of their money later. It is not about conning but showing tons of confidence. You can woo your love charmingly and confidently as Ranveer, no one’s gonna mind it at all!
2 States is the cutest movie Bollywood has every produced which has tugged at every lover’s heart. It is based on the Chetan Bhagat novel 2 states is the real-life love story of the author. While madly in love couples wish to get married, their marriage is opposed by their parents belonging to 2 different states. Will their love for each other cross all the hurdles? Will they manage to convince each other’s parents and tie the knot?
In India marriage is not only between two partners but between two families. The Girl’s family has to love the boy and the Boy’s family has to love the girl. Girl’s family has to love the boy’s family and the Boy’s family has to love the girl’s family. To convert their love story into a love marriage, the couple faces a tough battle in front of them. For its easy to fight and rebel, but much harder to convince. This film is thus a humorous take on inter-community marriages in India where cultural clash takes place and opposed by parents. Not only wooing partner is important but you also have to set things with the family too.
Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani
It can be considered as a refreshing part of DDLJ which shows love, romance, friendship, and life at a different angle. The movie is all about love but not at the cost of sacrificing one’s passion. Kabir and Naina bond during a trekking trip. Before Naina can express herself, Kabir leaves India to pursue his career. They meet again years later, but he still cherishes his dreams more than bonds.
Kabir’s character in the movie was a charmer who could woo girls in no time. He traveled to different places in the world to live his dream, he prioritizes his dreams rather than Naina his girlfriend. But later he realized there is no life without friends and family, traveling just give temporary happiness and ultimately you have to come back to where you belong. He realizes that he cannot live without his love so came back, he has clarity towards his life and lives life on his terms. The character just becomes aware of his life’s priorities and persevere to achieve them. He has made no compromises in his life and had the courage to tread his own path without fear or favor.
Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jaynege
We cant skip king of romance Shah Rukh Khan movie Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jaynege, even his movie Kuch Kuch Hota Hai gives a good example of good flirtatious behavior. Though the movie is an old one, you can never get bored even after watching it again and again and will definitely make your heart skip. DDLJ also speaks into the hope that many young Indians harbor to find a suitable mate, and for all that to “work out” sweetly. It is a mixture of love, romance, and violence where the boy makes the family of the girls realize that he is indeed the best ever candidate and choice that their girl can ever get in her life.
When Raj meets Simran in Europe, it isn’t love at first sight but when Simran moves to India for an arranged marriage, love makes its presence felt. The mannerisms, the acts, the jugglery, the flirting with other girls to make Kajol jealous, all these are there in dreams of many boys in their youth, as they want to get girlfriends. While girls I guess fall flat at the amount of emotional sentiment which Shahrukh can express, boys may not go so much sentimental but do realize that there is some “magic” in what he is doing which gets girls after him.
All in all, a fantastic feel-good romance when Shahrukh Khan says Senorita, ‘bade-bade deshon mein aisi choti choti baatein to hote rehti hain‘?
