Durga Ashtami 2024 – Wishes, Quotes and Message
Navratri are nine nights dedicated to Goddess Durga, Lakshmi and Saraswati in Hinduism. Fasting, doing pujas, chanting mantras are among various rituals of these nine days. Durga Ashtami is celebrated on the eighth day of Navratri.
There are four Navratri in a year but only two of them Chaitra Navratri and Sharad Navratri are celebrated widely across the country. Vasanta Navratri is also known as Chaitra Navratri and coincides in the month of March-April, according to the Gregorian calendar. Chaitra Navratri begins on the first day of Hindu Luni-Solar calendar that is Gudi Padwa in Maharashtra and Ugadi in Andhra Pradesh.
In 2024 Chaitra Navratri begins on 9th April and Ashtami will be celebrated on 16th April. Ram Navami will be celebrated on 17th April.
