Maruti Suzuki Swift Revealed in Geneva Motor Show 2017

The Geneva Motor Show is one of the most important events for automotive market. Maruti Suzuki Swift make debut of its 3rd generation for India and 4th Generation internationally.

The new Swift 2017 will be available in India market by 2018 and is available in Europe markets from next month from April 2017 and is already launched in Japan. It comes with six trim levels, RSt, Hybrid RS, RS, Hybrid ML, XL and XG.

It features distinctive and sporty styling, excellent handling and superb driving performance, manoeuvrable compact size, user-friendliness, etc. High appraisals for the Swift are also earned in Europe, making it a large driving force of automobile sales in Europe. The all-new Swift is produced at Suzuki’s Sagara Plant in Japan.

Upon having full model change of the Swift, its development was focused on achieving innovative styling and uplifting driving performance through the adoption of extremely light and rigid new-generation platform “HEARTECT”.

The new ‘HEARTECT’ platform which made its debut in 2015 and is the same lightweight platform used for the production of hacthbacks Baleno and Ignis and is equipped with a 1.2 l 4-cylinder Dualjet petrol engine and a 1.0 l 3-cylinder Boosterjet Turbo petrol engine for the Japanese market. In India though, it is expected to come equipped with a 1.2 l 4-cylinder K12B petrol engine and a fiat sourced 1.3 l 4-cylinder DDiS 190 diesel engine. It is also anticipated that the India spec car can also get the 1.0 l 3-cylinder Boosterjet Turbo petrol engine.

Its main specification are 1.2L DUALJET, 1.0L BOOSTERJET engine (petrol only). Overall length x width x height of 3,840mm x 1,735mm x 1,495mm, and Light and compact SHVS mild hybrid system.

The new Swift delivers an uplifting driving experience with a body weighing only 840 kg. It offers a steering sensation and features Suzuki’s first adoption of an advanced forward detection system that combines a monocular camera, for excellent mid-to-long-distance detection of such traffic elements as pedestrians and lane markers, and a laser sensor, for excellent short-distance and nighttime detection.

The new Swift is 10mm shorter than the current Swift, while its wheelbase is 20mm longer. Vehicle height is 15mm lower and vehicle width is 40mm wider, accentuating the new Swift’s low and wide form. It come with Swift VR Puzzle Drive which is a virtual reality puzzle game with Oculus Rift and Oculus Touch.

With the Swift already having a more-than-5.3 million-strong following, designers, under the theme of “a bold evolution of the Swift’s DNA”, effected a transformation aimed at stimulating people’s senses, while remaining true to the Swift’s character. The result is a new Swift with an overwhelming sense of presence.
