Kuwait Slaps Visa Ban On Five Muslim Countries
Kuwait

Kuwait have banned issuance of visa to five Muslim-majority countries, Syria, Iraq, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iran. It is reported that Kuwaiti government have asked these five nationals not to apply for visa as they are worried for possible migration of Islamic terrorists.

Recently Trump have issued a Executive order banning people from Iraq, Syria, Iran, Sudan, Libya, Somalia and Yemen to enter US for 120 days. Kuwait is the only country which have prohibited Syrian nationals prior to Trump Ban. Since 2011 Kuwait have banned issuance of visas to Syrian nationals.

However Pakistani ambassador in Kuwait have rubbished the report of banning Pakistan. Russian news agency Sputnik International have said that Pakistan have also been banned. This ban is included for tourism, visit and trade visas as well as visas sponsored by spouses. It is reported that the ban was temporarily and would be lifted after the security situation stabilized.

Recently Dubai’s head of security Dhahi Khalfan Tamim has sparked outrage after backing Trump’s Muslim Ban he said “We completely support Trump in his ban on entry to those who may cause a breach in America’s security,” the security chief said on Twitter. “Previous US administrations have embraced all the wanted men of the Arab world and those classified as terrorists. Trump, what you’re doing is right.”

UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed al-Nahyan said the ban was “not Islamophobic”.
