Cow Appreciation Day

Cow Appreciation Day

Cow Appreciation Day also known as Chick-fil-A Cow Appreciation Day is celebrated on the second Tuesday of July every year. The day is sponsored and created by Chick-fil-A, this day celebrates the cows to encourage people to eat more chicken!

The sun is hot and the days are long, which means it’s about time to get out of your spots and practice your “moooo” impression. The day urges people to eat more chicken or at least limit their consumption of beef for a day.

In 2022 Cow Appreciation Day will fall on 12 July.

History

Since 2005, Cow Appreciation Day is the one day each year that Chick-fil-A fans are highly encouraged to dress up like cows in exchange for free food. Each year around the middle of July, Chick-fil-A restaurants invite customers to dress up — fully as a cow for a free meal or partially like a cow for a free entree. Chick-fil-A began celebrating Cow Appreciation Day in 2005 and participation has grown each year as the company has expanded across the country.

The American fast-food chain is famous for encouraging people to eat more chicken as a way of saving cows. Best known for its chicken sandwiches, Chick-fil-A has been featuring cows centrally in its advertising for 24 years, with the premise that cows promote the chain in the interest of self-preservation. Chick-fil-A has introduced different slogans, commercials, and campaigns – both to encourage people to consume chicken over beef.
