Mother Yashoda and Lord Krishna Story

Legend says that in her previous life, Yashoda did a lot of penance to please Lord Vishnu and ask for his permission to be his mother in the next birth. She wanted to treat him like a child, scold him, take care of him, and treat him like a mother. The Lord granted her wishes because he was pleased by her devotion and sincere appeal.

Yashoda became the foster mother of Krishna who raised him with great love and care. Krishna was born to Devaki and was immediately transferred to Nanda by his father Vasudeva as there was threat to his life. Kansa his maternal uncle was the evil king of Mathura and had vowed to kill Krishna as it was forecasted that Devaki and Vasudeva eights son will bring end of Kansa rule. Kansa imprisoned Vasudeva and Devaki and ensured that their newborn would be eliminated on the day of their birth. Krishna was born as their eighth son.
