ISRO Successfully Launched Chandrayaan-2
ISRO (Indian Space Research Organisation) successfully launched its second moon mission Chandrayaan-2 on Monday, July 22.
It is the first time any country is trying to reach the South Pole of Moon. This would be a huge step forward in India’s ambition of becoming a major space player. This was the second attempt by ISRO after the first launch was aborted on July 15 due to a technical glitch in the rocket.
Chandrayaan means “moon vehicle” in Sanskrit was launched from Satish Dhawan Space Center at Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh. The Lander and the Rover are to reach the moon’s south pole in early September and will be the first spacecraft to reach the region ever.
If this mission to the moon goes well then India will become the fourth nation after the United States of America, Russia, and China to land on the moon. India is all set to become a leading space power and media of the whole world is lauding ISRO for its accomplished launch.
