Getting There :
By Air: Ranchi is the only city of Jharkhand which is connected by a daily flight to Mumbai via Delhi. Earlier there were flights to Kolkata also. It is expected that some more flights will be added soon.
By Rail: Ranchi is very well connected by railways to other parts of the country. Direct trains are there from Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Patna. Trains from Mumbai pass through Jamshedpur which is just 140 km from Ranchi.
By Road: Buses of the Bihar State Road Transport Corporation ply regularly.

About 40 km. away from Ranchi on Tata Road falls a village named Taimara near which flows the Kanchi river, Falling from a height of about 144 feet Kanchi river makes a pretty fall called Dassam falls known as Dassam Ghagh also encircled with charming scenes. The tourists are warned not to take bath in the falls or at least be careful while bathing in the stream.
Ranchi, Capital of Jharkhand is also called as city of Water falls and lakes. Ranchi is a city of Falls and Forest. Dassam falls is 34 km from Ranchi on Ranchi-Tata Road near a village called Taimara.
