Japan Fukushima received Tsunami Warning after powerful earthquake strikes. The earthquake of 7.3 has struck Japan’s coast of Namie, Fukushima, Japan. A tsunami warning for waves of up to three meters (10 feet) has been issued. The depth of quake struck around 6 a.m is 10 kilometers (6 miles). Fukushima prefecture is north of Tokyo and home to the nuclear power plant that was destroyed by a huge tsunami following an offshore earthquake in 2011. People living by the coast have been warned to evacuate to a safer place such as high ground or an evacuation building this is immediately following the Tsunami warning.
More than 18,500 people were killed by a tsunami that was created after a magnitude-9 earthquake hit northeastern Japan on March 11, 2011.
