Indias first ever Cherry Blossom Festival started in Shillong
The pink and white cherry trees in full blossom lent a colorful hue to Shillong the first-ever National Cherry Blossom Festival.
Incidentally, one of the most famous cherry blossom festivals in the world is hosted by Japan in April known as Hanami or Sakura, and draws thousands of tourists to the country. Australia, Korea, China, the US, and some other countries also celebrate the Cherry Blossom Festival which helps them to boost their tourism and local economy.
This festival will boost growth and make Meghalaya an attractive destination for tourists. Chief Minister Mukul Sangma inaugurated India’s first Cherry Blossom Festival in the state capital of Meghalaya.
The four-day festival will showcase the unique beauty of pink and white cherry blossoms and will boost the tourist and Meghalaya tradition. People from big cities looking for a green destination away from the pollution and hustle bustle will find it a very pleasant destination.
